I’m quite excited by the concept- the kids will each pick a card, & collectively make up a story by combining them. We will write the story & the kids will illustrate ‘their’ page themselves. Put it all together & a copy for each of the kids. Perfect!
The drawings are Unfinished and there are more to come, but here are some tasters.

Some new books to sink my brain into!
I’m pretty excited. Spark is specifically about exercise & the brain, and brain rules should be a FANTASTIC read, Dr Medina is simply great, not many people can give such and interesting and succinct account of how we are wired and how to maximize or at least understand the potential of our brains.
Y is for YOUR response
be ready to provide timely and appropriate responses to your childs attempts and achievements. Remember, we learn much more readily with positive feedback than negative, and your responses are vital to your child, after all, you are their most influential role model.
C is for Connect & engage
Check that your child is connected and engaged with the activity and it purpose through stories and explanation.
A is for Approximate

R is for Responsibitlity
Allow opportunities for children to choose how and what they would like to learn. This gives the some autonomy and helps them participate in their own education.
E is for Expectation
Expect the learner to ‘have a go’, its alright not to get it the first time, just keep trying! There should be no fear of failure in learning, its counterproductive because learners will shy away from attempting things if there is a fear factor.
Having an expectation of children to learn gives them some autonomy, it shows them that you trust them enough to be able to achieve things by themselves. Great for their self esteem!
